Nancy Sandercock

Nancy Sandercock’s work investigates ineffability and the power latent in nonhierarchical structures through dance, visual art and experimental sound. Recent projects include the upcoming The Triangulum Project (2023) with John Bellucci; Flax in Flux (2021-2023) with sculptor Kasie Campbell; Drift (2021) with composer Ian Crutchley; Break the Back of a Broken System (2019) for dancer and modular synthesizer, and the frost flowers trilogy (2015-2018), a series of performance installations inspired by dream histories of the deep North. Nancy was a founding member of the post-rock group Polar Goldie Cats; performed in artist Mike Kelley’s Day is Done; danced for visionary choreographer Yvonne Rainer and acted in filmmaker Kyle Armstrong’s breakthrough feature Until First Light. Their work has been co-produced by Canada Council for the Arts, The Alberta Foundation for the Arts, The Edmonton Arts Council, Brian Webb Dance Company and Mile Zero Dance.
